
Development of armour through the ages to the late medieval period. This includes a demonstration of the crafting of maille and plate armour with authentic tools and armouring techniques while dressed in late medieval period costume.

How a knight and his Lady were dressed with aspects of social and administrative life in the late medieval period. This includes a demonstration of ‘how a knight is armed’ (i.e. dressed in his armour), fighting techniques of the knight in armour. Also included is ‘the dress of the Lady’ and her role as ‘wife’ and administrator of the medieval household.

Social and religious aspects of life in Saxon and Norman society at the time of the battle of Hastings. This includes talks and demonstrations of the armour and dress adopted at this period in history and a specific talk on the ‘Battle of Hastings’ and its interpretation within the ‘Bayeux Tapestry’.

The bloodiest of England’s wars, its decimation of late medieval England’s noble class. A talk, in period costume, that highlights the social and political effect that this 30 year war wreaked on England between 1455 and 1485. Also included are demonstrations of armour, weapons and dress seen in this period.
